Bookcliff Gardens is where quality, selection, and service come
together to create the premiere garden center and nursery in the
Western Colorado region. Located in Grand Junction, Bookcliff
Gardens began in 1968 as Mesa Matoes. The hothouse tomatoes grown
in our greenhouses satisfied tomato lovers during the long, bland
months of winter.
The enterprise soon expanded into carnation growing for the
cut flower market, and bedding plants were added a couple of years
later. Growth in the Grand Valley in the late 70s created a need
for a reliable source for nursery stock. We shifted
our focus to meet the needs of the home gardener by adding landscape
plants. In the early 80s, we added our award-winning landscape
division to round out our commitment to being the valley’s most
complete gardening resource.
Bookcliff Gardens Mission Statement
Our goal is to provide leadership in the green industry by exceeding our customer expectations through a knowledgeable staff, the finest quality of products and services, client satisfaction, and environmental sensitivity; while maintaining profitability and contributing to the local economy with commerce, employment, and philanthropy.
