OUR STORY
Ed Settle started the company in 1968 by growing greenhouse tomatoes and selling them to local markets. He also raised carnations in the greenhouses for cut flowers. In the mid 1970’s he started growing bedding plants, and his son Bill joined the company to help run the greenhouses. Nursery stock and garden goods soon followed.
As the business grew, two new partners were added: Dennis Hill to manage the retail and nursery and Dan Komlo to manage the landscaping division. Today, Bookcliff Gardens is the largest retail nursery between Denver and Salt Lake City, carrying a complete line of trees, shrubs, roses, vines, berries and grapes, and evergreens. We also have a wide selection of pottery, fountains, statuary, garden art, chemicals, seeds, mulches, soils, amendments… the list goes on.
We are best known for our exceptional customer service and professional advice. We have seven Colorado Certified Nursery Professionals on staff to help you with any garden question you may have.
Bookcliff Gardens also has an award-winning Landscaping Design and Maintenance department which can transform your yard into a restful oasis by specializing in naturalistic water features and xeriscaping. Our full-service Maintenance division is available to keep your yard looking its best.
